Journey from then to now
Mr. Yong, the CEO of WriteBest Group, started from a humble beginning - landing a job in a stationery company and progressively grew from salesman to businessman. His first venture led him on a path of stationery trading, as he continued to look for new opportunities. This is when he found a market gap - the value of whiteboards in a blackboard world.
Capitalising on this, Mr. Yong spent countless hours experimenting with materials and methods. From this, Mr. Yong successfully broke the market with his first whiteboard, produced to meet the market’s demands.
2019
Keep growing & going strong
Until today, the team increased up to 200 over employees.
2018
Write World Sdn Bhd was formed. It specializes in niche stationery-related brands to grow in Malaysia.
2017
A prestigious award
WriteBest was awarded as the TOP 2 company in Malaysia for the prestigious Golden Eagle Award (Excellent Eagle) organized by the Nanyang Siang Pau.
2016
WriteBest was awarded as the TOP 6 for the prestigious Golden Eagle Award, Excellent Eagle.
2015
WriteBest was awarded as the TOP 8 for the prestigious Golden Eagle Award, Excellent Eagle.
2014
Sulomas Sdn Bhd was formed. It specializes in waste management and manufacture products such as stainless-steel bins.
Mamorim Sdn Bhd was formed. It supplies cork-based products and distributes Amorim Cork from Portugal.
2008-2011
Expanding presence
Expanded company’s presence in the Northern Region, Penang.
WriteBest Johor Bahru was established to expand presence in the Southern Region.
WriteBest Kota Kinabalu was incorporated to service the growing market and demand in Sabah.
Rocada Sibu was formed to service the growing market and demand in Sarawak.
2008
The new headquarter
Moved into the new Headquarter and 250,000 sq ft manufacturing plant in Hulu Langat. The team increased up to 100 employees.
An important award
Mr Yong Yoon Ming was awarded The Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award at the prestigious Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award (APEA) 2008.
2006
First subsidiary was formed. WriteBest Stationery Sdn Bhd focused mainly on stationery supplies trading.
2005
Expanding for a better future
Planning and construction commence for the new Headquarter.
WriteBest achieved Superbrand Status for Branding Excellence.
2004
Acquired a 250,000 sq ft land for WriteBest expansion plan.
2000
WriteBest Manufacturing Sdn Bhd was formed to specialise in the manufacturing operations aspect while Writebest Sdn Bhd managed the trading endeavour.
WriteBest moved to a 16,000 sq ft factory and the team tripled to almost 50 employees.
1999
WriteBest Sdn Bhd was formed.
1998
First export
WriteBest boarded its first export to Australia. And soon after, it grew rapidly within the Southeast Asia region as well as the Middle East.
1995
The born of the brand
WriteBest Enterprise was formed. The brand WriteBest was born. Moved to a humble 1800 sq ft lot with a team of 15 employees.
1988
Everwin Trading was formed. Trades primarily in stationery products. Whiteboard was just part of the products that the company carried.
1987
The journey began
Mr Yong Yoon Ming embarked the journey of researching and developing whiteboards at the balcony of his own home.
